Phycoforms-building the future with seaweed

Phycoforms is a collection of seaweed-based composites that were designed to speculate on the future of architectural materials.

These products were created by utilizing waste seaweed (seaweed with juvenile crustaceans)generated from the commercial farming of brown seaweed in Tasmania. Phycoform products are fire-retardant, insulating, stiff, and strong. The material is targeted to address sustainability in the building industry, but the current roadmap involves starting with homewares as R&D of the material is still in progress.
